Is there a way to read HDF5 files (or BUFR) with McIDAS?
I couldn't attach my file because the .h5 extension is not allowed, but if you need it I can send it through email.

Although this should probably be filed under "feature requests", I too am in need of support for both HDF4 and HDF5. NASA NWP model analyses (MERRA) and forecasts (GEOS), and instrument data are almost exclusively in HDF format. Only a small subset of NASA instrument data are supported but almost no Level 2+ derived products can be viewed.

My apologies for the slow response. I had one of our programmers look at the file and unfortunately it would a fair amount of development time for McIDAS-V to display the data. If you have interest in funding this effort, please let us know.
