A feature which some users might find useful is the "Create Image" option in draw freely. This allows the user to insert an image file anywhere on the display window. This provides a quick way of adding customized symbols or images to an existing display.

Advantages
1.) Multiple images can be added
2.) They can be placed anywhere on the screen
There are a couple disadvantages:
1.) The image will rotate with the display, depending on the purpose, this could be either desirable or undesirable.
2.) Draw Freely Images that are outside the "box" when Clip View at Box is selected will not be visible.
For Logos, it is best to use the Show Logo in View>Edit>Preferences. This allows placement of the logo without rotation when the display is rotated.

Inserting Image via the Draw Freely Command
Re: Inserting Image via the Draw Freely Command
Part 2:
If a specific symbol is desired ( e.g. the symbol for Thunderstorm, but no precipitation ), and the symbol needs to be added separate from a station model, this also can be added using draw freely.
On the main toolbar select Display>Draw Freely
Click on the "Create a Symbol" Icon in the Drawing Control
Select the Location on the Main Display and Click
From the Drawing Control Layer Controls, click on the Shapes Tab
Double Click on the Glyph Control (in this case Glyph 1)
Change the Symbol in the Glyph Properties Window
I am not sure if it is possible to maintain another table of symbols, or add to the database.
