changing colors when saving animated gif

Post by joleenf »

Hi,

I am sure this is technically not a bug report, yet, the result is not desirable either. I have made an animated gif for a colleague, and I have tried to make it as simple as possible, however, some of the white pixels turn yellow late in the animated gif. This is rather annoying. I tried making the display label white, then the pixels turn blue to match the map instead. How can this be fixed? I can save each image as an individual gif, and this problem does not exist. Then, my colleague, made his own animated gif.

I know that this has been explained to me previously, and I keep running into the problem and trying to strip the image of as much color as I can.

While I don't know the algorithm used to select the colortable that is embedded with an animated GIF, the fact remains that it must contain no more than 256 entries. If you have not tried this, I would make a McV colortable with many fewer than 256 entries for each frame you display and see if that does not help.
