See the color bars in the animated gif I created with Mc-V. It has become degraded in quality and flickers. When I create an animation using ImageMagick convert, the end product looks fine.

animated gif flickers
Re: animated gif flickers
Hi,
I think you're seeing the same thing that was reported in this thread and in this inquiry. Unfortunately, as noted in the thread, it's due to the animated GIF being restricted to 256 colors. In many cases it appears that saving the animation in .mov or .avi formats will work better.

Re: animated gif flickers
My color table did not have more than 256 colors so this was not the cause of the issue. .mov and .avi are often not workable with powerpoint presentations. ImageMagick 'convert' UNIX utility did not have a problem creating an animated gif so it would seem that some work could be done in Mc-V to remedy this

Hi Kris,
We discussed this issue and came up with some ideas that we think will result in animated GIFs that are closer to what you get with ImageMagick.
It will be worked on in inquiry 798.
