erased ASCAT winds leave coloured swath

Hi -

Already for some time beta2 leaves a coloured swath when erasing a layer with ASCAT wind vectors or barbs, as shown below. Very disturbng as you have you work to start from scratch.

Hi HP,

Our testers also found this problem and we believe it is an issue switching to Java 7. I created Inquiry 1862 so the issue can be addressed separately from the rest of the Java 7 issues.
