Post by mug_admin »

Hello,

The newest version of McIDAS-V, version 1.9, is now available for free download from the McIDAS-V Website.

For current McIDAS-V users, notable changes since the previous version (1.8) include:
  • Improved layer label font rendering.
  • Added RGB/channel combination functions and formulas for various instruments.
  • Added support for VIIRS EDR imagery data.
  • Updated local servers on macOS and Linux.
  • Added a new VIIRS ADDE server on macOS and Linux.
  • Added mp4 as an output format for movies.
  • McIDAS-V is now signed and notarized.
The full release notes are available at:
https://www.ssec.wisc.edu/mcidas/doc/mcv_guide/current/ReleaseNotes.html

If you're new to McIDAS-V, a collection of fifteen McIDAS-V tutorials are available on the Documentation page of the McIDAS-V Website. The "Getting Started" chapter in the McIDAS-V User's Guide will also help to guide you through using the different types of data available with McIDAS-V.

We look forward to hearing your feedback!

Thank you,
