On November 17th, a McIDAS-V Brainstorming session was held for all scientists at SSEC and CIMSS. At the session, one basic question was asked of the users: What would you like to see in McIDAS-V?

The following discussion is from that brainstorming session:

Memory limits are sometimes a problem (JimN)

* JimN said that McV runs out of memory fairly often on his machines.
* DaveP said that there's nothing we can do about the 1.5 GB memory limit on 32 bit machines. He added that on 64 bit machines there is no practical limit on memory (it's whatever the machine has for memory, so it could be in petabytes).
