MD file schemas used in generating GOES derived products

Post by tony.schreiner@ssec.wisc.edu »

I am interested in using MD file schemas that are generated from GOES Sounder and Imager radiance data. A brief but not exhaustive list includes (I am not sure if they are preceded by DC or DA):
CLDS
SRET
GRET
GOES
ENGY
UPPR

MD files using the above listed schemas are being produced on the linux rets machines (rets1, rets2, rets3, etc.)
By allowing McIDAS V the ability to recognize the above listed schema files, the likelihood of including the "GOES Team" as users of this powerful software package will greatly increase for both qualitative and quantitative work. A sample CLDS MD (MDXX3000) file can be found on the ftp machine (ftp.ssec.wisc.edu) at the following address:
/pub/rets1/for_tonys
Thank you.
