Field names with mult-band files

Hello,

While I can 'hover' to get more information, it seems the fields names are the same, making it hard to find the right band. This is from a nc file:

Hi Tim-

When -V populates the Fields of a netCDF file, it reads the long_name variable to list the variables to display. The short_name is then used in the mouse over information. I wrote inquiry inquiry 2141 to be able to change which variable is listed. Similarly you can use the long_name and short_name variables in the legend, label displays, etc. It would be nice to have the options here as well.
