Could there be an option to turn off the image window's navigation/view_point/time_controls/etc buttons (currently on the left and top sides)? If not, could there be an option to not have them saved when output say to a gif? The reason I as is that they take up space (and distract from the image information), and if all the panels are linked, you really only need one (in that mode). Could there be a way to 'tear off' the controls and have them as a separate window?
See attached image.
Thanks,
TJS

Hi Tim,
Your request is one that's been discussed and requested in the past. So I went ahead and added your comments below to McIDAS-V inquiry 157 (the existing request for these types of changes):

Re: toggling/tearing off the image window navigation buttons
Actually, a fellow mcv user informed me that we can already turn off the "side" buttons, but this still leaves the request to hide the "top" buttons. See attached for an example.
To turn off the side navigation toolbars:
- Main window
- Edit
- user preferences
- display window
- under navigation toolbars (viewpoint / zoom/pan / undo/redo)
