De-alias radial velocity?
De-alias radial velocity?
Hello, how would de-alias radial velocity with MCIDAS-V? It would be nice to get rid of the radar folding
Re: De-alias radial velocity?
Hello,
I consulted with my colleague, and there aren't many formulas to work with L2 radar data. Is it possible that the radial velocity you are interested in is already available as a L3 product? That's under "Radar > Level III" and then you can connect to adde.ssec.wisc.edu/RTNEXRAD. Under the Product dropdown there are many different products for different elevation angles. We aren't sure if any of those are dealiased? My colleague said there are hydrometeor classification products that can account for range folding, but he's not sure if that's built into all of the products or not.
I hope this information helps. If you have any further questions just let us know. If a more general de-aliasing routine is required, I can submit an inquiry to the programming staff to see if it's possible to do.
Thank, Jay
