Good afternoon!
We would like to find out if the following native remote dataset reference/address has been moved or if the domain has changed rets1.ssec.wisc.edu.
The technology staff from our institution says that they are getting alerts from the firewall indicating failings in the DNS resolution of rets1.ssec.wisc.edu and maybe its happening because the domain is no longer valid.
We will appreciate any information you can provide us on this issue.
Regards,

Status of a native remote dataset
Re: Status of a native remote dataset
Hi Gloria,
We were recently informed by the CIMSS group that the rets1.ssec.wisc.edu server would no longer be providing data and that it has been replaced with dataset CIMSSP on server rci.ssec.wisc.edu.
We added the change in the McIDAS-V 1.6 software and documentation. So rci.ssec.wisc.edu appears in its Satellite > Imagery chooser's Server pulldown menu and in the Data Formats and Sources page. If you are running a version earlier than 1.6, you can add server rci.ssec.wisc.edu and dataset CIMSSP manually using the instructions in the Remote ADDE Data Manager page (see the "Adding a New Remote Dataset" section).
Thanks,
Barry
