Hi Joleen -
I like your idea of being able to set the different labels before you create the display. I can see this being useful for a variety of reasons. This suggestion has been added to the inquiry.
Thanks -
Bob

Re: variable name in cursor readout
Hi everyone - I definitely agree that there should be a better description of the field that you are probing. I also believe that a combination of %datasourcename% - %shortname% would be the best option. We are going to have a programmer look into this over the next couple of weeks to determine what...

Re: Unable to load a bundle from a script
Hi Tom - I just tested this out with today's nightly and everything seemed to work correctly. Please let me know if I am doing anything different than what you did. 1. Created a .py file (named sattest2.py) to load a bundle and create a movie. I saved this to my McIDAS-V-System/temp directory: loadB...

Re: Error in Map of Topography
Hi Boris - It looks like you are almost there with image 10. Instead of changing the transparency value for the entire satellite image as a whole, you could try making lower brightness values that are indicative of clear skies 100% transparent, and brightness values that do represent clouds 0% trans...

Re: Error in Map of Topography
Hi Boris - To begin, I would recommend using the ETOPO2 topography map you were using in your first post. That seems to do a better job working around the oceans, and does not bound its lower limit to around 0gpm, which blends land areas near the coast and oceans together (as the Geopotential Height...

Re: Error in Map of Topography
Hi Boris - I went to NOAA CASS to pick up some GOES-12 data from around the time that you are looking at. Did you get your GOES data from NOAA CLASS also? If not, where did you get this data from? Can you please attach your '200404270315.goes12irs' file to this forum so I can try it out here? I trie...

Re: Control color of shapes from GIS files
Hi Joleen - I agree with you that it would be a great idea to add this option to the Display tab of the Layer Controls. Right now, it is somewhat hidden, and it would definitely be more consistent with the rest of McIDAS-V if this option was included directly in the first tab of the shapefile contro...

Re: Control color of shapes from GIS files
Hi Joleen - I just tested this out with a couple of GIS shapefiles I have (1 for the different WFOs around the country, and 1 for roads in Dane county). For both of them, I was able to change the color of the lines drawn by going to Edit->Line Color in the Layer Controls tab of the Data Explorer and...
