Contouring point data
Is there a way to contour a point dataset (i.e lets say I want to contour a point dataset containing lightning flash density??) or should this be a feature request?

Non terrestrial data
Has there been any consideration for Mc-V being able to read data that is take of locations other than the Earth? Some notable questions would be things like Dave Santek's Mars Polar winds (which I've seen him do with McIDAS-X, though I suspect there is a bunch of specialization he's done for that),...

Re: Lables
I noticed in beta 5 that having written features was still not available. Do you know when/if this will become available?

Moving from Globe display to Map display
As far as I can tell, there is no way to move between the globe and map displays in the same tab. Could this be added in at some point?

FYI, as part of the delivery of enhancements I just gave Jess, the square root vis enhancement is in there. So, hopefully it should be a part of beta5, along with a whole host of other GOES-R ABI enhancements.

Re: psuedo 3-D IR+Visible imagery
Kris,
I kinda got what that image had. I had to do a combination of setting the IR transparancy to 40% and making everything above 290K 100% transparent. I wasn't able to get the 1km imagery (to much memory... ), so I had to use the 3km data. See my attempt in the file below.

int64 data type
Will Mc-V have (or does it have) support for the int64 netCDF4 datatype??

Re: Lables
Thanks. I know the annotating and adding of color bars that will not be affected by zooming in/out was something else I wanted (i.e. a separate color bar that is outside of the actual image) was something else I mentioned to TomR about adding in as well.

Ok, I would like to have the ability to do the following:
The original image (type.gif), I would like to have the ability of adding in text labels (Type_labels.gif), rather than 0,1,2.... When will this feature be available??

Re: Error reading in gridded data
Ok, figured out what it was. IDL likes to do 0-255 for byte values, but TomW pointed out that IDL likes -127 to 128 for byte values. As you can see, it looks a bit better now.
