Re: square root function for GOES Albedo display
A color table to recreate what I see would be good. Would it be set as default in the preferences? I could set a parameter default for every GOES visible albedo or ABI reflectance image, but I have not been done well with wildcards in regular expressions. I have always added a separate parameter def...

square root function for GOES Albedo display
The images attached to this post shows GOES-12 displayed as a BRIT value and as albedo. The albedo images are darker than the BRIT displays. g12_2005155_visALB_mcv.jpg g12_2005155_visBRIT_mcv.jpg Traditionally McIDAS-X converts raw counts to albedo and a square root function is applied before a BRIT...

Re: writing a header with the text point Metadata GUI
This issue has been resolved and was a mistake on my side. My file was a comma separated; however, I read it in with a ".txt" extension. I changed the extension to a ".csv," and used the GUI to read and assign a header to the ".csv" file. The header that was created for...

change frame sequence for loops of mixed data type
Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to change the frame sequence in a loop that has both satellite data and point data. I have had a few people comment that the satellite image changes before the aircrafts observations in the attached animated gif (Note: image changes to 8:02 Z long before the air...

FLANIS option for movie
Hi,
There is an ANIS option for movies, which is nice. I used that to create a FLANIS page (slightly different tag format). Would it be possible to make a FLANIS option for saving movies? http://www.ssec.wisc.edu/flanis/
Thanks,
Joleen

writing a header with the text point Metadata GUI
I started with a file of data values, separated by spaces. 08/03/2009 07:05:20 COA128/000 14.633333 -63.900002 490 360 Norm 08/03/2009 07:07:20 COA128/000 14.850000 -64.050003 480 360 Norm 08/03/2009 07:08:21 COA128/000 14.966666 -64.116669 490 360 Norm I brought this into McIDAS-V using the File Ch...

Re: point data from text file
I found the tools I needed in the time animation properties. The loop bounds can be changed in the "Define Animation Times" tab.

point data from text file
I have imported some text data as point data. My file contains far more times than my animation. I would like to make two different loops. One loop would have all the times available, the other loop would only use the point data that matches the satellite imagery times. What is the best way to accom...

Re: locking bundles
Jess, In many cases, I would like some of the text and analysis added to the bundle to be locked so that it cannot be changed. I remember many times in the past when sharing preliminary data, we would "watermark" the word "Preliminary" over the data in the image so that it would ...

Size of Layer Label
The number of characters which will display using the %datasourcename% of the layer label is limited even if there is room to display the entire name. For example, if the %datasourcename% variable="ABIS (6.19 um) High Level Water Vapor" there is room for the entire %datasourcename%, but on...
