List of freely available data that McV can display
Hi all, There is a ton of great data out there available to the public if you know where to look. Here is a list of just about everything I know about and basic instructions for how to get the data files displayed in McV. Please add to the list if you know of more! Re: "Vertical scale" preferences have no effect for...
Hi Mike - That is correct, you would use the Vertical Range option when working with the 'Color-Shaded Parameter As Topography' display type. I seem to be having trouble using the display type of "Color-Shaded Parameter As Topography" with satellite data. If I display a loop of 5 images w...

Re: "Vertical scale" preferences have no effect for...
TomW just expertly pointed out to me that when you do a "Color-Shaded Parameter as Topography" you also get a "Vertical Range" setting in the "Layer Controls" tab, which is separate from the "View -> Viewpoint -> Vertical Scale" settings. The "Vertical Ra...

...the "Color-Shaded Parameter as Topography" display control. I think this is more of a request for more flexibility/convenience in the "Color-Shaded Parameter as Topopraphy" control than a bug, so I put it under "Feature Requests". (And sorry Joleen... almost forgot a...

Re: Jython Shell Closes with Clear All Command
Hey Jon - sorry to throw another one at you, hopefully it 's an easy one though - I've noticed since your "refactored InteractiveShell's..." commit that I get one blank line inserted into the history after each command I type. So, when I hit the up arrow to navigate backward through my his...

Re: best approach for multiple days of satellite imagery
Here is the promised script, customized to Kris's Meteosat-7 dataset. One immediate change to the script is required to successfully run it: change "accounting" to your valid initials and project number for the SSEC archive. Other than that, I've tried to comment liberally so it is clear w...

Re: best approach for multiple days of satellite imagery
Kris- Sorry, I was out sick yesterday and didn't see your post! I just got started on your script last Friday but don't have anything useable just yet. I should have it done today or tomorrow and will let you know if I hit any major road blocks.

Re: best approach for multiple days of satellite imagery
I'd be happy to help you out with writing a script to accomplish this, if you'd like to go that route. Where is the data coming from?

Re: 3-D radar data disappearing
I don't have a lot to add here- I just wanted to say that the same problem happens if you only have a single slice of radar loaded, so it doesn't seem to be specific to displaying multiple slices (note, the problem is in the "Radar Sweep View in 3D" display control). I've tinkered with tra...

Re: volume/cross-section display of radar data
Hi Kris, I've been confused by this before also - I think what you need to do is: in the Field Selector tab, click directly on "Reflectivity" (NOT on e.g. "Reflectivity Elevation Angle 0.5"... see my screenshot). Then you should have options for "RHI" and "Radar Cr...
