Re: Script to generate Overshooting Top

Hello, This is the same information that I sent you through email earlier. I'll post it here as well so it is available to others. In short, I believe it is possible for McIDAS-V to do everything you are looking for, but there is no straight-forward/easy way of doing it. This would require scripting...

Re: summation of netcdf grids

Hi Kris, I found a way to get this working through the GUI, not using scripting at all. The first thing you'll need to do is copy/paste this text into an NcML file. <netcdf xmlns="http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/namespaces/netcdf/ncml-2.2"> <aggregation dimName="time" type="join...

Re: summation of netcdf grids

You should be able to use the sum() function to add up the data values at each timestep. For example, at the end of the script, you could add the following two lines: dataSum = sum((dataList[0],dataList[1],dataList[2],dataList[3],dataList[4])) sumLayer = activeDisplay().createLayer('Image Display', ...

Re: himawari-8

Hi again, They just let me know that this problem has been fixed. I just checked all of the HMGLOB datasets and all of them have 15:30:00 and 16:00:00Z data from today, 04/28/2020. I doubt they'll back-fill in the data missing from 04/21 through today, but at least realtime data is being added again...

Re: himawari-8

Hello,

A bit of an update. ESPC wanted to thank you for bringing the issue to their attention and they're actively investigating. I just checked and it doesn't seem like new data is flowing yet, but I'll let you know as I hear more.

Re: himawari-8

Hello, I know that the University of Wisconsin's Satellite Data Services group has a server for Himawari that has up-to-date data (27 APR - 12:00:00Z as of right now). The server requires accounting information, though. If you are interested in learning more, the Satellite Data Services group has a ...

Re: Need help to transpose bundles to user area.

Hello, I'm glad that you're making progress. RE: Station and buoy plots over the Caribbean: If you go to the Point>Plot/Contour chooser, you can connect to adde.ucar.edu/RTPTSRC. Using the Point Type dropdown, select "RTPTSRC". This is hourly METAR data over the entire globe. You can subse...

Re: Need help to transpose bundles to user area.

Hello, As for getting GFS data, if you go to the Gridded Data > Remote chooser we have a default catalog that has several models, including GFS. You can get at GFS global data by selecting: Realtime Data > NCEP Model Data > Global Forecast System (GFS) > GFS One Degree - Global Coverage > GFS One De...

Re: Need help to transpose bundles to user area.

Hello, Haime. This is Bob from AMS. I'm glad you're looking more into McIDAS-V! Those bundles on the page that you linked to unfortunately can't simply be changed to over your specified domain. This is because the bundles use NAM data over the Continental United States (CONUS), so there is no data o...
