Re: animated gif flickers

Hi Kris,
We discussed this issue and came up with some ideas that we think will result in animated GIFs that are closer to what you get with ImageMagick.

It will be worked on in inquiry 798.

Re: animated gif flickers

Hi,

I think you're seeing the same thing that was reported in this thread and in this inquiry. Unfortunately, as noted in the thread, it's due to the animated GIF being restricted to 256 colors. In many cases it appears that saving the animation in .mov or .avi formats will work better.

Re: startup_bundle set to "0;"?

Hi tomw, Good catch. We tried it here and found that you are correct about the STARTUP_BUNDLE values being set as you described. I checked with a McV system programmer, and he confirmed that it shouldn't be harmful. He added that the '0' simply corresponds to the state of the startup bundle checkbox...

Re: European SEVi MSG15 sat. images cloud top temps incorrect!

Hi, I loaded a couple of the Meteosat-10 10.8 micron images from the past two days and did not see any temperatures outside of the normal range. So I'd like to try it with the file you're using. You can either reply to this post and attach it in that reply (if it's not too large) or post it to our a...

Re: Map only displaying on 150hPA and lower images

Hi, I believe what you're seeing is a case where the data you're displaying (at levels 150hPA and above) are at a higher elevation than the vertical range setting (which defaults to 16000 m). You can see this by changing the Position slider at the bottom of the Layer Controls for the Default Backgro...

Re: cannot access ADDE servers anymore

Hi again,

The programmer identified and fixed the issue very quickly. He even posted new nightly installers with the fix, so feel free to grab it and give it a try! :-)

Re: cannot access ADDE servers anymore

Hi HP,
Thanks for reporting this issue. We were able to verify it here, so have notified the programmers. There were some changes checked in over the weekend that may have introduced the problem, so hopefully the cause will be easy to identify.

Thanks again,
Barry

Re: Memory issue

Hi Humaid, One of my colleagues (bobc, who posted above) did some online searching and found the likely cause! Bob found that there were many reports of Minecraft users running into the 455 MB memory limit on Windows 7 and 8 machines (e.g., m). It appears that many who reported this problem had a _J...

Re: Memory issue

Hi Humaid,
I just sent you a private email about also downloading and running a batch file named statMcV.bat that our systems programmer created. Please see the email for instructions.

Thanks,
Barry

Re: Memory issue

Hi Humaid, Thank you for running a session with -tempuserpath and reporting the results. We're not sure why it isn't working. We notified a couple systems programmers who will be looking into it. In the meantime, please try setting the amount of memory manually by clicking the radio button below the...
