Re: Error reading in gridded data

Even if you set the valid range to 0-254 (since 255 is the missing value), or the non-converted byte value range, the surface temperature (or any of the scaled data) still comes out as the image I sent. Byte values, as you know, go from 0-255, so if it was scaling to missing for the majority of the ...

reduced resolution image issues

In viewing sounding data from the AIT framework, I get a really wierd looking image for CAPE (CAPESoundings.gif) , with a bunch of hexagons where the clouds. However, using the UCAR netCDF tool box, I get a much better looking image (Mc-V_issue_soundings.jpg). Any idea why this is happening with bet...

Error reading in gridded data

I have a CF compliant (thanks to Tom W) netCDF file (attached). However, for scaled data, McIDAS-V (beta4) seems to have an issue displaying the unscaled data. In the image below, I have the result from the netCDF file from IDL, UCAR's netCDF tools user interface and McIDAS-V. As can be seen, both I...

Re: COMBINE Command in McIDAS-V

Rick,

Yeah. Typically, the RGB's we do from SEVIRI and AVHRR are the VIS, 3.9 and reverse 11 micron BT for the RGB, respectively.

Re: How do I make a nice composite??

Rick,

Got the first section done, but I was wondering if there was a way to do basically:

imgoper.k LD/TEMP.3 LD/TEMP.2 LD/TEMP.1 LD/COPY.1 FORM=CMAX ZERO=DATA SIZE=1632 2304

in -V (it is the same way, I think, as what you are saying)

How do I make a nice composite??

Ok, I have several AVHRR overpasses that I have remapped and I want to combine them into one image, but I only want to 1). have the most recent data on top and 2). if the most recent data has a 0 and the previous image has an actual value, use that data. The issue everything is on the same grid. I r...

Re: possible new projections

Thanks, I'll try that. Figured it might be a useful thing to have, since AK is part of the PG effort.

Re: Navigation issue with ADDE data

Seems a bit odd that the remapped files work, but the original files don't (though they seem to be fine in -X). Or is it the same issue in the non-remapped and the remapped files??
