IR Satellite Imagery is usually used to identify the ITCZ. You can do a google search to find some interesting studies on different detection methods.

I know that the search is not the greatest. We're pretty much limited to what phpBB offers. The problem with ''mcidas-x'' is that it ignores the dash.

The output format from getADDEImage has been updated in the latest nightly version of McIDAS-V. We have done extensive testing and do not expect any problems, but if you find any errors in your scripts, please let us know.

From our testing, we believe that this is a threading issue. Jon is making changes to run createLayer on the event dispatch thread, which fixes the problem for us. I don't think he's checked that in yet, but I'll talk to him today and find out the status.

Are you using the nightly or version 1.2? If it's the nightly, there is a bug in the ADDE Imagery Chooser that we're trying to get fixed.
