Re: My thesis is doing well: I have a few more questions!
Hello DrPeavey - I'm glad that your thesis is going well! Can you please let me know how you are loading your own point data in? If you are doing this through a file, can you please attach your file to this post so I can take a look into the contouring of the data? From the ADDE server, the fact tha...

Re: Related to Filters (Beta) in McV
Hi Ghansham - I notified our image filter programmer about the image filters not working on Image FlatField. I wrote this up as McIDAS-V Inquiry #1338. m I will also look at more thorough documentation of the image filters, which is included with this inquiry. Thanks for your suggestions - Bob Carp ...

Re: netcdf subsetting not workingq
Hi Kris – On 05/18, you posted an updated example of your file. Can you please repost this file if you get a chance? When I click on the link in your post, it takes me to a ‘Document Not Found’ page. I have the first file that you put in our /pub/incoming, but not the updated one. Your request is st...

Re: netCDF file using sinusoidal projection
Hi HP – I believe that you already received the email from Tom W about the geostationary projection that is built into McIDAS-V. For this to work correctly, your image will have to be in the correct projection, and this code will help to navigate. You do not need the “lat() and lon()” arrays, but th...

Re: netCDF file using sinusoidal projection
Hi HP – I ran your file through a CF-convention compliance checker and verified that it is not CF-compliant because of the sinusoidal projection. Therefore, the sinusoidal projection is apparently not supported by the netCDF library. After asking a couple of programmers, I believe the reason that th...

Re: VIIRS NCC imagery will not plot
Hello - I just heard back from one of our NPP programmers. He agrees with us that the geolocation of the granule is bad, and he is seeing the -999.9 values as well. We ran into this before with data from GRAVITE, and were told this is an error on the data producer end. Once our programmers heard tha...

Re: Averaging files
Hello - Joleen, your method also seems to work well, and it appears to be a better way of doing this in the foreground of McIDAS-V when working with this number of files. I also saw that there were a couple March dates in the February file. Perhaps this was an attempt to have the same number of time...

Re: Averaging files
Hello Dan – With the number of files that you are working with, this doesn’t seem to be something that can easily be done in the foreground in McIDAS-V. I sent this off to one of our programmers, and he said that if your sole purpose is to compute the averages and write a netCDF file, then perhaps y...

Re: saving pngs with transparent background in capture>movie
Hi Joleen -
Thanks for the feature request. I have written this up as McIDAS-V Inquiry #1323.
http://mcidas.ssec.wisc.edu/inquiry-v/?inquiry=1323
I took note in the inquiry that it is possible to save an image (via the View->Capture->Image menu item) as a PNG with the 'BG Transparent' option selected.
Thanks -
Bob Carp

Re: speckeled images with VIIRS data from CLASS
Hi HP and Tom - I went on CLASS and picked up data for SVI01, SVI02, and SVI03 at the same day/time. Once this order was processed, I only got one file: GIMGO-SVI01-SVI02-SVI03_npp_d20120718_t1940142_e1945528_b03752_c20120719143907768781_noaa_ops. This appeared to have geolocation within the file, b...
