Re: NEXRAD Level-II data convertion to Area format
Hi bobr, Sorry, but currently you cannot save a NEXRAD Level II image as an Area file. I wrote up this request as McV inquiry 2374 . FYI, you can save an image loaded via the Satellite>Imagery chooser or Level III radar file loaded via the Radar>Level III chooser as an Area file by right-clicking th...

Re: Creating a composite from calculated images?
Hi, I received the following answer from another help desk member (bobc). As for a template for creating these airmass RGB displays, you can install the Miscellaneous>RGB-Eumetsat plugin. This plugin was provided to us by a user from EUMETSAT. To add the plugin, go to the Plugin Manager ( Tools>Plug...

Re: kmz file export for Meteosat 15 not working properly
Hello Elizabeth, Here are a few tips to remember when making a KMZ file to import into Google Earth: ⋅ As noted in the McV Guide's Image and Movie Capture Controls page , " McIDAS-V can also write out an image and the corresponding Google Earth KML or KMZ file. For this to be correct,...

Re: correct LINUX 64 bit configuration
Hi rico, I checked the forums and our inquiry system and did not find any reports of " libGL error: No matching fbConfigs or visuals found ". However, a Google search of it suggests that it's likely a graphics card or driver issue. So I'd first recommend that your local IT department check...

Re: display label missing
Hi Kris, Sorry to hear that the label is not appearing. Thanks for the observation that it may be related to labels with multiple panel displays perhaps with large data volume. We will do some more research into the issue, but in the short term you asked about manually adding a label. Will the Drawi...

Re: cursor probe not working in nightly
Hi Kris, Can you please re-try the probing issue? I tried yesterday's nightly (Build-date: 2015-11-19 10:30) on both Windows 7 and OS X (albeit with a Windows keyboard, i.e, it had a Ctrl rather than command key) and it worked for me, whether probing was defined to work with the middle mouse button,...

Adding a Map File to the Default Map Set
Users who locate a map file that they frequently use (e.g., that has extra detail or features in a case study region) can add it for use with the current session, and also can add it to the Default Map Set so that it appears with the default set of files in subsequent McIDAS-V sessions. See this for...

Re: CALIPSO 1km cloud layer
Hi Steve and Joleen, A couple McV programmers completed some work on this yesterday. Using today's nightly release we did some quick testing and it appears that the V3-30 CAL_LID_L2_01kmCLay and CAL_LID_L2_333mCLay files from PEATE now work correctly (in addition to the L1 files that already worked)...

Re: Adding a Map
Hi Joleen, Once you've used Edit > Add Your Own Map... to add the maps you want to the Layer Controls, the File > Default Maps > Save as the Default Map Set option can be used to save all of the maps and their On/Off checkbox settings so that they are the default in future sessions. Does that do wha...
