Pause works perfectly fine for me in idv.has it to do something with McV.In colorplanview, u can set select range,set polygon mode,shade colors.but it uses default renderer,imagedisplay uses fast image renderer.if u r not using any of those features, try imagedisplay.if u keep loading data without u...

Its really wonderful stuff coming from McIDAS-V with such great capabilities of scripting. I would suggest to just try display type as 'imagedisplay' and see if you are comparatively using lesser memory.The reason why I am suggesting this one is because you are not using the special capabilities of ...
