Re: Making a frame larger than my monitor limits

Hi Tim... on my Windows XP machine I run scripts from the "Command Prompt" in this fashion: I have my myloop.py file: loadBundle("c:\\home\\jayh\\myloop.mcvz") pause() writeImage("c:\\home\\jayh\\myloop.jpg") #writeMovie("c:\\home\\jayh\\myloop.gif") print &qu...

Re: Display Missing in Beta 2 on Windows

I'm glad that worked Brian. In our beta2 version of the documentation this anomaly has been added to our FAQ. Yours is the second laptop we've seen this happen on. It seems very random. For the User community, here is the FAQ entry: Error #5 When I start McIDAS-V the main display window is blank - t...

Re: McIDAS GRID to netcdf

Hi Steve-

This functionality is not yet implemented in -V, and unfortunately there are no work-arounds. There has been some work done towards this effort, and we do plan on having this available in the future.

Thanks, Jay

Thanks Kris... I see the problem now. I'll write up and inquiry for that to get fixed.

Re: MCLISTEN spawns zombie processes

Hi Brian-

Thanks for the information. We have looked into this and were able to reproduce the problems on our Linux machines. The programmer isn't quite sure what the best way to handle them is, but there is an inquiry for this to get fixed after beta 2 is released.

Thanks, Jay

Re: data readout

Hi Joleen-

Currently only lat/lon values are shown. If you left-click on the mouse over the data display, you'll get the lat/lon and the data value under the cursor. I'll write up an inquiry to make the readout more flexible and informative.

Thanks, Jay

Re: MCLISTEN spawns zombie processes

Hi Brian- I'm playing around on our Linux test machine and have a couple of questions for you. 1. How are you using -X and -V with MCLISTEN? Do you start MCLISTEN in a -X session, then start -V and use the bridge to view the -X displays in your -V window? Etc. 2. Can you give us a "ps" of ...

Re: Is there any way to display storm attribute tables in McIdas

Hello-

If these files have a lat/lon associated with each data record, then they might be able to be read in as an ascii point data format file. You can find information about that process here: http://www.ssec.wisc.edu/mcidas/doc/mcv ... tData.html

Re: Image disappeared when switch between panels

Hello- Using the tab displays in McIDAS-V requires java version 1.6 and Mac OSX 10.5. There may be other features as well that do not work correctly with OSX 10.4. For the best performance we'd recommend upgrading to OSX 10.5. Otherwise, just staying with one tab display is the best option. If you a...
