Re: summation of netcdf grids

This made sense and worked for me. How could I then apply the parallax shift formula to the summed array so that it aligns with radar imagery? Also I'd want a contour option. Can I add this somehow to my jython library so I have more functionality with how it works?

Re: summation of netcdf grids

getting back to this, when the data is summed say over 5 timesteps, and a fill value is encountered in 1 of the steps, is the summed count set to be fill or does the summing ignore the fill value? How would the data be summed using the script above?

support for "sandwich" product animations

I know one can create single image visible and IR sandwich composites, but as I recall the formula wasn't set up to enable multi-hour animations. I know Joleen has developed some scripting to generate these animations, but I was wondering if/when Mc-V would be able to do the animations with just cli...

summation of netcdf grids

I have 5 gridded netcdf files with GLM lightning that have no timestamps or time coordinate so I can't aggregate like I normally would with existing Mc-V formulas. Do you have a recommendation for how I can simply sum these 5 files to get a 5-min accumulation of GLM lightning flashes? My scripting a...

Re: aircraft point data vertical profiles

Thank you Bob, sorry for the errant header. The unit= and missing= was what I was looking for and I am now able to get my desired wind barbs. Question: Is it possible to do some sort of gridded "Barnes-scheme" like analysis of point data in a vertical cross section. Imagine I fly a plane a...

Re: aircraft point data vertical profiles

I've gotten back to this now. I've created a date/time column for these files and have appended a text header to each file. See example below. I've created a station model for this data ad have linked to the wind speed and direction columns to create the wind barb. I have two observations from what ...

Re: McIDAS-V has closed unexpectedly

I still am running the same OS. The "about this Mac" menu choice in the upper left apple menu says "Retina 15 inch, mid-2015", though this laptop was first acquired here in late 2017. 1 TB solid state hard drive, 16 Gb RAM I will report on the crash I encountered this morning. 1)...

hibernatemode 3

See attached for the crash I just encountered now. In this case I brought up the McIDAS windows, and the first thing I did was to put an existing display layer in the trash and the software crashed

Re: McIDAS-V has closed unexpectedly

New data point today, computer remained closed but connected to external monitor all night, unlike usual where I take it home. Brought Mc-V up for the first time today, the session was active since yesterday. First thing I did was try to connect to an ADDE server AGOES16F, it immediately crashed whe...

Re: McIDAS-V has closed unexpectedly

Update, yesterday I had Mc-V up and running and I closed my laptop and brought it home. My memory usage was minimal, maybe 2 GB at most. Today I used that Mc-V session and had no crash. I was surprised as it usually crashes in such a scenario. So the amount of memory being consumed by Mc-V upon clos...
