Re: McV won't run.
Hi Jay, I'm having a similar problem with the windows appearing and suddenly disappearing on startup. This happens on both Windows 10 and Linux (64 bit). It looks like a Java error: Gtk-Message: 12:16:17.325: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module" # # A fatal error has been detected b...

Korean Level II Radar Data
I searched the forums to see if this has been posted. The NWS has been distributing NEXRAD LEvel II data from two sites in South Korea: m Using McIDAS-V 1.6 on both Windows and Linux (64-bit), and I also tested with a Mac, the sites are plotted at 0,0. (Testing using the NOAA WCT plots the radars co...

Re: Error window instead of ignoring error - POES display
Rick, I'm using the imagery chooser under the "Legacy Chooser" tree. I'm using ESPC dataset PLR at server satepsdist4e.nesdis.noaa.gov. I am pulling up N19HRPT in this dataset and attempting to load a group of passes as seen in the attached screen shot. The error I get is what I attached t...

Error window instead of ignoring error - POES display
In McIDAS-V version 1.0, when I attempt to load a POES pass that is not over the geographic area that I specify, instead of McIDAS-V "ignoring" the pass and moving on, I now get an error. Previous versions of McIDAS-V (beta 5 and before) let me simply grab a group of POES passes then would...

Re: Error making the absolute list of AVHRR Files from CLASS
Hi Barry,
I cleaned out the directory as you recommended plus I upgraded both my Windows XP 32-bit and Red Hat Linux 32-bit to Mc-V version 1.0. I tested on both and I can now see the complete file listing.
Thanks!

Re: How can you change the description for Image Type
Rick, Thanks! And yes, I have a work request into the ESPC programmers to review and update comments for all of our McIDAS products served via ADDE. I have a spreadsheet where the work is already done, but I don't know if the programmer has to update line by line or if it can be batched or automated...

Re: How can you change the description for Image Type
Hi Rick, I lost the "bubble" on this post and didn't see that you had questions for me. The server is remote and can be accessed using both McIDAS-V and McIDAS-X. The issue that I have is the DSSERVE on the server is set up so that each dataset is unique in the descriptor, but the way it w...

Error making the absolute list of AVHRR Files from CLASS
This is an error that I've only recently started to see. I have downloaded several Level 1b POES passes from NOAA CLASS and placed them into a folder, then set up a local ADDE server to read those files. When selecting the data, I can read the files when using the "Relative" listing but si...

Re: Viewing Full Disk Images
Tim or McV support: I've been trying to look at some archived GOES-13 stray light images in McIDAS-V and the space look keeps getting masked out. Have you found a way to "unmask" space? I'm here on the forum because I searched "space look" and this seemed to be the only post that...
