Re: capure images from layers window
Hi Miguel- I've discussed this with my colleagues and we haven't been able to find a way to use captureImage() (or writeMovie()) to capture anything not in the Main Display window. I wrote a new inquiry #3066 to expand on the functionalities of captureImage() and writeMovie() to be able to save disp...

Re: Data Sources - cannot find catalog
Hello Jin, You are doing the steps correctly. This is actually an issue that has been fixed in the McIDAS-V 1.9beta1 nightly build, which you can download here . The login and password for the page are both: mcv Please note that the nightly builds include any code changes from the previous day, and ...

Re: De-alias radial velocity?
Hello, I consulted with my colleague, and there aren't many formulas to work with L2 radar data. Is it possible that the radial velocity you are interested in is already available as a L3 product? That's under "Radar > Level III" and then you can connect to adde.ssec.wisc.edu/RTNEXRAD. Und...

Is there a function to remove a layer?
A user submitted this question, and we wanted to share the process: I can find removeAllLayers, is there a function to remove a specific layer? Here is how you can accomplish this: Assuming his displayed layer is referenced as "layer", for example: layer = activeDisplay().createLayer('Imag...

Re: Mcicas V error
Hi Conrado- This error has been reported before on Linux systems. We have some questions for you: 1. What is the operating system and version of your Linux machine? The output of "uname -a" from a terminal window might be helpful. 2. Have you ever used McIDAS-V on this Linux machine before...

Re: Mask Value Function
Hi Joleen- Bob and I took a look at this and there isn't a way to do it in the UI. He came up with a way to do it in a script however... You can currently use "!=" in a script: addeParms = dict( server = 'adde.ucar.edu', dataset = 'RTGOESR', descriptor = 'CONUS', band = 13, size = 'ALL', u...

Re: How do I customise Default Background Maps?
Hi Yunus- You would choose the "MODIS MOD 02 - Level- 1B Calibrated Geolocated Radiances" Format. The list represents all the ADDE servers available for local data display. Satellite>HYDRA gives you access to the HYDRA multispectral display tools, Satellite>Imagery is a more general displa...

Re: Spikes in MOD021KM HYDRA display.
Hello- I was testing with these granules obtained from the ladsweb website. 1. I could not replicate the spikes in your first post with the 2 granules from 2016. I was using the "South Pole" projection with some better success (from your display window choose Projections>Predefined>South P...

Re: Add server to MCIDAS-V
Hello-
Sorry for the delay in response. The FY2G data in McIDAS-V is handled in McIDAS AREA format. You would need the FY2G data in that format and then follow those instructions to setup the Local Dataset.
Thanks,
Jay Heinzelman
