Re: McV won't run.

Hi Brian- I'd like to confirm a few things... 1. It looks like you are running McV version 1.8. And have these systems been running ok previously with 1.8 or are these new installations of 1.8? 2. Did you look at updating graphics drivers on these machines? 3. Can you run with a -tempuserpath? This ...

Re: Bug in visad.bom.radar3dcoordinatesystem

Hi Ghansham- Thank you for bringing this problem to our attention. I have written inq. 2945 for evaluation and have noted the IDV thread in the inquiry. Would you be able to supply us with some example data and procedures for reproducing the problem? Also, what is the source of this data? Thanks, Jay

Re: download any McV verson very slow

Hi HP- Bob is seeing the same issue and we have been told we are having campus network issues. Our SDS group has sent out this message: The University of Wisconsin campus in Madison is continuing to experience network issues. We have been informed that a network switch was replaced yesterday which f...

Re: Display many hours grib files no working

Hi- Bob found that there actually is an inquiry written up for this problem, inquiry 1676 . These files have different "time" dimensions dependent on the forecast hour. Aggregate Grids By Time only looks for the "time" dimension, so any variables that use "time1" or &qu...

Re: METEOSAT CTT cursor readout of temperature

Hi Elizabeth- I tested your file. Since it is a McIDAS AREA file, there are a few ways you can display it. From the General Files chooser, selecting the file, and displaying the image. This cursor readout gives me the lat/lon and RAW pixel value. Also, I setup the file in it's own directory and acce...

Re: McV won't run.

I'm glad you got things working and thanks for letting us know the details. It's possible something was corrupt in your McIDAS-V directory. However, that PhysX package sounds suspicious. Let us know if you have further issues like this.

Thanks, Jay

Re: McV won't run.

Hello- After doing some research, I was wondering if you have recently had something auto-update or some system changes since McV worked last on this machine? We do have this type of error in our FAQ: Q. Why am I am seeing a "Canvas3D: Non-recoverable graphics configuration error" when ins...

Re: METEOSAT CTT cursor readout of temperature

Hi Elizabeth- In the Field Selector, when you click the arrow to display a variable, I'm assuming you are displaying "Brightness" counts (Brightness, Radiance, Raw, Temperature are the options). When the probe is used, with a middle click, the lat/lon/brit values are displayed of the indiv...
