Re: email overload

Hi HP,

Thanks for letting me know. I'm glad that you are no longer receiving the excess emails from the L2 Radar forum post. Please let me know if you see this problem in the future with other forum posts.

Thanks again,
Bob

Re: email overload

Hi again HP, Our systems programmer is trying to debug what's going wrong. As a test, would you mind re-enabling your email settings the way they were before? We want to see how things change from looking at your settings on our end. After doing this, please let us know if you're still seeing the ex...

Re: email overload

Hi HP, I actually just sent an email to our systems programmer who recently updated our forums to see if he had any thoughts on what may be going wrong here. So, just to verify: - You were still receiving the excess emails when you had the email option checked for only: * Someone replies to a topic ...

Re: email overload

Hi HP, Apologies for all of the emails. This is the first time I've been made aware of this problem! We switched to a new version of the forums a couple months back, perhaps that is related. I'm curious what your email settings look like. Could you please: Click on your username under the search bar...

Re: Level 2 Radar

Hello, Some months back the catalog changed from using "http" to "https". You should be able to use: https://thredds.ucar.edu/thredds/radarServer/catalog.xml Note that this new "https" URL will be the default in the next stable release of McIDAS-V, but I don't have a ti...

Re: building new color tables from ascii text?

Hi Joleen, There are no updates to report with inquiry 2385. I spent some time experimenting in the Jython Shell and discovered how you can apply min/max values after importing an enhancement. Here's how that works: a = importEnhancement('C:/Users/rcarp/joleen_enhancements/clavrx_cloud_type.cmap', '...

Re: How Do I Open an MD File?

Hi Chris, After looking at the Tropical Cyclones Archive page I saw that you can download the data in ASCII text format. This format can be loaded into McIDAS-V as a text data source and wind barbs can be plotted. For example, here is an image of GOES-16 AMVs from 12/02/2020: amv_image.png I'm not e...

Re: How Do I Open an MD File?

Hi Chris, As of right now, local point servers do not exist in McIDAS-V, so there is no way to read in MD files. We have an inquiry open to add local point servers ( Inquiry 2155 ), though I have no estimate on when this will be completed. If it's possible to get your data in another format of point...

Re: How do I log into the McIDAS appplication for windows?

After a discussion with the user through email, it was determined that the accounting issue was related to trying to access a server from Satellite Data Services (SDS - https://www.ssec.wisc.edu/datacenter/). Any accounting required for SDS servers/datasets should be obtained directly from SDS. Ther...

Re: Wild Cards for filenames in datasource.xml

Thanks for the tip, Ghansham. Good timing as well since I just ran across this again today attempting to create a new data source. I briefly discussed this with one of our programmers who will try taking a look into this shortly. I'll keep you updated with any progress.
