Thanks, I appreciate it... I tried that and that definitely looks like the best option.

How do I plot a simple location mark by lat/long?
I'm trying to plot a simple mark on the map by lat/long. I can use Draw Freely and refer to lat/long at the bottom, but the program always draws symbols starting at a corner instead of at the center, so it's impossible to align a symbol over a given lat/long. I have tried different combinations of S...

There's no source of public GOES-16 ADDE data?
This isn't directed at the University of Wisconsin as I know they only provide the software... but there is no source of public GOES-16 data (ADDE) anywhere that can be ingested into McIDAS? Or any source of real-time data? I was hoping to add GOES-16 to my convective weather forecasting routine and...

Re: McIDAS will not plot Drawings or Lat/Long lines from Jython
Interestingly I found that the Drawing Control crosshairs are actually plotting in the Jython script but appears as specks. So the problem is they've been scaled down tremendously. I changed the scaling up by a factor of 20 and they are appearing now, but lat/long lines are still not plotting.

McIDAS will not plot Drawings or Lat/Long lines from Jython
I have a rather simple bundle consisting of one static satellite image from an ADDE server, a couple of shapefile overlays, a drawing control (free object, and a lat/long grid. If I start McIDAS and load the bundle manually from File > Open, the drawing objects and lat/long grid display immediately,...

Re: Random lines all over the screen with various overlays
Thanks for the help... I can confirm that this worked and the random lines are now gone.

Re: Random lines all over the screen with various overlays
Actually I did experiment with the 'fast rendering' option and I see minor changes to the random lines, but they're all still there.
My previous version is V1.0beta4.

Random lines all over the screen with various overlays
One problem I am having with McIDAS V1.01 is that line segments from various Default Background Maps draw in the correct places but there are additional lines that appear randomly all over the screen. The lines change randomly as I zoom in and out. The previous McIDAS version did not have this probl...

Re: Brightness problems after upgrade to McIDAS-V 1.01
Thanks, that definitely seems to solve it. I'll have to experiment more with the local ADDE server, too... it seems to give more control over the image building process than simple file selection.
