GOES-16 Availability Question
So with the GOES-16 beta data craze going on, it is to my understanding that one can only access this data through the GRB and PDA (unless anyone knows of a way to access this data by other venues/public servers??). I am curious if the McV team is planning on offering GOES-16 data when it goes provi...

Re: List of freely available data that McV can display
Just wanted to give an update to my previous reply as SSEC's PEATE server is no longer up and running. I have found another ftp server from SSEC that provides (very timely) Suomi NPP and MODIS Aqua/Terra data: m If you want to keep data files in your own directories, I've been able to download data ...

Re: List of freely available data that McV can display
SSEC's peate server offers public data including 4 of 5 instruments from the Suomi NPP suite (ATMS, CrIS, OMPS, and VIIRS), MODIS (both Aqua and Terra), AVHRR (NOAA-5 through -19), IASI (on board both METOP-A and METOP-B), CALIPSO, and CLOUDSAT. My experience lies in downloading VIIRS data so if any...

General>Catalogs>Community IDV Catalog>Tiger Shapefiles>Florida>lkA fl duval.zip. So I guess technically it's a .zip file. After following your ste...

Getting rid of geolocating lines in TIGER shapefile
I've been trying to find a setting where I can turn off what looks like geolocating lines in a TIGER shapefile. These lines dis/appear when panning/zooming and originate from random points. These lines are similar to those attached to the World Coastlines in the Default Map. An example image is atta...

NEXRAD LEVEL II radar location problems
I've downloaded reflectivity of KPAH (Paducah, KY) from NCDC NEXRAD Data Inventory Search site (m) and it displays the data in Missouri. It is the correct data just in the wrong place. It's not at KEAX but north of this location. I was wondering if any has had this problem before? Is there a problem...
